Flavors of the Month: January 2016

Sober January

It's health month! No drinking. No dining out. Even our ice cream has gone healthy. Well, sort of. We've turned our balanced breakfasts into a pint - almost over night. Oatmeal ice cream with a coconut milk base, topped with molasses-sweetened bananas. It's how we do for breakfast each morning, and, now, for nightly dessert, too.

Come on 2016!

We are big into eliciting more and more luck with each new year. Twelve grapes at midnight, burning a list of wishes for the new year, wearing all white, lasagna for dinner. And now the almond-pecan snowball cookie, rolled in powdered sugar, meant to represent good fortune for the new year (since they are round, ya know, shaped like coins!) So we rolled up our sleeves and rolled up these cookies, and then rolled them into our signature almond-marzipan 'scream.
